I built SoundAid as a side project for people who need a little help hearing speech in cafés, transit, or crowded rooms. The idea is simple: turn earbuds into a conversation enhancer, not another complicated medical device.
It highlights the voice in front of you while cutting background chatter, with volume, frequency, and left/right balance controls. You can switch between the AirPods mic and the iPhone mic — hand the phone across the table and still hear clearly.
Tone Control came later: bass and treble so different voices land the way you want them. Small feature, big difference when you’re trying to catch a soft voice in a loud room.
