Alerts tell you when something is happening. Shelters tell you where to go. Ward 3.6 adds two more layers to the same map: what’s moving in the environment, and whether food on the shelf just got recalled.
Environment
The new Environment tab puts tornadoes, earthquakes and volcanic activity on the map next to the alert layers you already use. Where camera feeds exist, you can watch a volcano live. And if you follow a city, tornado threats there reach you the same way other alerts do.
It’s the same job as 3.0 and 3.1, knowing when something is happening in the places you care about. These are just the hazards people kept asking to see, not only read about in a notification.
Food safety
The Food tab shows official food recalls and safety warnings for your country and saved cities as nationwide pins. A recall is easy to miss in a news feed. On the map it’s something you can actually check.
A cleaner map
Sharper hazard icons, clearer pins and simpler filters, so Environment and Food sit next to the alert layers without turning the map into noise.
Since then
Updates through 3.6.3 (late September) expanded emergency coverage and fixed map and notification edge cases. Bringing alerts to Android is still the next big release.
Ward is free on iOS and Android. The full story, including Ward for Business, is on the Ward page.
